2016 / 2018 / 2019 Kyle Elks

Established in 1949, the Kyle Elks hockey club has since striven for excellence and been a source of pride for their small west-central Saskatchewan community. From 2016 to 2019, the Kyle Elks won three provincial Senior (Sr.) ‘D’ championships in four seasons – thus cementing their legacy as a dynasty.

During the 2015-16 season, the Elks lost on Jan.10, 2016, and didn't lose again for the remainder, winning 23 straight games, including a sweep of the provincial playoffs. The Elks' special teams played a key role in their success. In the playoffs, the team's powerplay scored 34 goals and their penalty kill only gave up five shorthanded goals while scoring 11 – more than twice as many goals as they gave up when killing penalties.

Kyle was eliminated by the Edam Three Stars in the first round of Sr. ‘D’ provincial playoffs the following season. While coming up short in 2016-17, the Elks bounced back with two dominating campaigns.

In the 2017-18 season, the Elks won the provincial championship with a record of 10 wins and no losses. However, the Edam Three Stars did take Kyle to its only overtime throughout its dynasty in provincial playoffs – which were best-of-three series at the time – before the Elks won 4-3 to claim their second banner.

The 2018-19 playoffs saw the Elks sweep the provincial championship while, once again, facing Edam in the final. In each of these three seasons the Kyle Elks were inducted, they also accomplished the "double championship" by winning both the Saskatchewan Valley Hockey League (SVHL) and provincial Sr. ‘D’ banners. These Elks teams achieved six titles in four years because of their fierce competitive spirit and their belief they could always find a way to win.

Over the span of 75 years, the club has won a total of 15 league championships, six provincial ‘D’ championships, and two provincial ‘C’ championships. Among these titles are three other Sr. ‘D’ championships (1979, 2004 and 2023) as well as two Sr. ‘C’ championships (2006 and 2008).
